Susan Ward
READSTOWN, WI – Susan M. Ward, 58, of Readstown passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at her mother’s home in Readstown. She was born in Viroqua, WI, on April 22, 1963, the daughter of Daniel and Janet (Nelson) Zielke.
Susan graduated from Viroqua High School in 1981 and went to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. After graduation, Susan married Brent Ward in 1986. After several jobs, she worked at the State Bank in Viroqua until her retirement in February of 2022. Susan fostered many pets throughout her lifetime, enjoying them as companions, and loved spending time with her family.
Susan is survived by Brent, her husband of 36 years; her mother, Janet Zielke of Readstown; her sister, Linda (Nancy Rogers) Oler of Waukon, IA; two nephews, Randy (Osman Njai) Oler of Germantown, MD, and Jesse (Sarah Ashmore-Oler) Oler of Boscobel; a niece, Jaime (Shannon Harrop) Lake of Dubuque, IA, and many great- nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Zielke.
In keeping with Susan’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. A private family burial will take place in the Viroqua Cemetery at a future date.
