Investigation launched after immigration detainee mix-up
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — The Marshall County Sheriff's Office says an internal affairs investigation has begun after jail staff mistakenly released a federal immigration detainee.A news release Friday from the department says jail staff received authorization Wednesday to release a detainee, Edin Quinteros, from Guatemala, who had posted security bond for his release pending court proceedings.
