La Crosse Public Library helps with gift wrapping

The La Crosse Public Library is taking time out this holiday season to give you more time to get things done. It's all part of it's charity gift wrapping event Sunday at Valley View Mall.  The public brings gifts to the wrapping station, which volunteers will then wrap for a small donation.  All proceeds go to buying new books for the library.Gift wrappers saw a steady flow of people throughout the day, something that did not surprise the organizers.  "They've been very busy and I can't say I'm surprised by that because if there is half the number of people in the world who are as clumsy with scotch tape as I am, this is a real gift to them as well," says Library Director Kelly Krieg-Sigman, "It's really nice to have someone who knows what they're doing make your packages look nice for the holidays."This is the first gift wrapping the library has done.  Organizers hope to do more wrapping in the future.
