Throughout the day, volunteers and area residents were busy filling up hundreds of sandbags in La Crosse County. The town of Holland is offering the materials free of charge to those trying to stop the floodwater from wreaking havoc on their homes.
With spring not far away, meteorologists with the National Weather Service say the flooding outlook is predicted to be at or below normal in the coming months. The preliminary report, however, shows some areas along the Mississippi River are slightly more likely to experience flooding.
