After months of advocating, the Quimby family is happy to see three new disorders added to the list of conditions for which all newborns in Minnesota are screened.
Members of the Minnesota Vikings organization visited 5-year-old Gavin "Super Gav" Quimby on Wednesday at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.
Minnesota State Senator Jeremy Miller sponsored and proposed the "Super Gav Act" in honor of a four-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy, a rare brain disease.
