The Charmant in downtown La Crosse named a ‘Four Diamond’ hotel

Trip Advisor also ranks it as the best hotel in the state of Wisconsin

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Employees of a new hotel in downtown La Crosse are seeing diamonds.

The Charmant hotel has been named a ‘Four Diamond’ hotel by AAA. The announcement was made during a ceremony Thursday.

The Charmant is now just one of a little more than 1500 hotels in North America that holds the honor.    

The hotel’s general manger says he’s not surprised by the rating, but was caught off guard when the AAA inspector showed up after only a few days of being open.

“I was running around the property in a haze the first week that we opened, and got a call that said, ‘Hey Sean, the AAA inspector is here.’ I thought they were joking,” said G.M. Sean Castady.

Trip Advisor now lists the Charmant as the number one hotel in Wisconsin.
