The Golden Rule sails into La Crosse

LA CROSSE (WKBT)–The Golden Rule boat sailed into La Crosse, bringing with it a mission of peace.

The historic sailboat started sailing in 1958 as a peace ship to stop nuclear weapons testing.

Veterans for Peace sponsors the newer version, but the mission to prevent war remains the same, especially with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The Golden Rule will be stopping in over 100 ports along the Mississippi.

The boat will be leaving early Thursday morning for Prairie du Chien.
