Third Match Day for Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign

Day made possible thanks to anonymous donor

The Salvation Army of La Crosse is asking for your help this fundraising season with another Match Day.

The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign is lagging behind their numbers from last year, but they remain hopeful they can reach their one million dollar goal. And to help make the largest goal the nonprofit has ever set, an anonymous donor is making a third Match Day possible this Saturday.

The fundraising campaign is pairing the third Match Day with the annual ‘UW-L Day’ when 19 kettle stands throughout La Crosse County will be staffed by UW-La Crosse students.

“It’s kind of crazy to think about how many students probably sign up and help out throughout the day. Plus, they’re great bell ringers. They’re always happy and smiling and spreading Christmas cheer. Like I said, it’s one of our best days,” said Salvation Army of La Crosse Public Relations Coordinator Nick Ragner.

This Saturday’s Match Day will match up to $20,000 in donations.
