Thousands enjoy meal, community at La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Thousands came together to celebrate Thanksgiving and community Thursday in downtown La Crosse.
The La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner was held at the La Crosse Center.
More than 3,000 dinner were served free of charge to anyone who wanted to stop by, though donations were accepted.
Besides meals, those in attendance could also enjoy music, crafts and games.
And it isn’t just the events that get people coming back year after year.
“As you can see behind me, we hustle. There’s a lot of hustling and bustling going on, but it’s a big family environment people come in, give each other high fives, give each other hugs, ‘how’s your grandson’, ‘how’s your wife doing’, ‘how’s your mom doing’, It’s just a really neat feeling,” said La Crosse Community Thanksgiving Dinner board president Ruth McQuiston-Keil.
This was the 38th year of the La Crosse Community Dinner.
