Thousands of high schoolers attend Career Expo at the La Crosse Center

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — High schoolers around the region are preparing for the workforce.

Over 1,700 juniors from 28 school districts attended Western Technical College’s Career Expo at the La Crosse Center.

Professionals in fields like engineering and law attended to connect with students and representatives from higher education and the military sat at over 80 tables to get kids thinking about their future.

Event organizers say it is the perfect stepping stone.

“It’s important to support the community, support the students, support the school districts, that’s what we’re all about,” said Tyler Ludeking, K-12 partnership specialist at Western Technical College. “So, being able to provide these opportunities is something that we’re really proud of and happy to continue to provide for them.”

The expo has been running for over 15 years and is one of the largest expos in the area.
