Tomah Golf wins sectional to continue State streak

Arcadia/Independence qualify in Division 2

Tomah girls golf won Tuesday’s WIAA Division 1 Rice Lake sectional to punch the team’s third consecutive trip to State.

The Timberwolves shot a collective 329 to win the day. Sophie Pokela led Tomah with a 74, the second-best individual score of the day.

New Richmond was the other team qualifier, posting a 331.

Onalaska finished third with a 349, but Allison Balduzzi and Kiya Bronston will compete at State as individuals. Balduzzi shot an 82 to be sixth overall, and Bronston tied for seventh with an 83.

In Division 2, Arcadia/Independence also qualified for State as a team, winning their sectional with a 376. Senior Hallie Tulip led the team and the whole sectional with an 82.
