Tomah VA nurse assistance cited for disorderly conduct
TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) — While the Tomah VA continues to face the fallout from over-prescribing opiates to patients and having a retaliatory work environment, it faces more serious allegations.
Tomah VA officials confirm a nurse assistant was cited for disorderly conduct through a Tomah VA police investigation.
Former VA employee and whistle blower Ryan Honl posted a letter he received to his Facebook page.
The letter from an anonymous source alleges abuse by the nurse’s assistant at the VA. The writer claims the assistant was seen pushing a patient several times.
They also wrote there have been other incidents of abuse, but cannot share the information out of fear for retaliation.
Tomah VA officials say nurse assistant has been removed from patient care duties while the VA administration investigates the allegations.
