Tomah wins 3rd straight MVC girls golf title
22147582TREMPEALEAU, WI — Until 2011, Tomah had never won an MVC girls golf title. Now, they’ve won three straight.
The MVC Championship Meet came down to the wire Thursday at Trempealeau Mountain, but Tomah beat Holmen by one stroke: 386-387.
“Since my sophomore year, we’ve all really worked as a team,” said Tomah senior Danielle Ducklow, the meet medalist. “People think golf is an individual sport, but it’s also a very big team sport, where if someone has a bad day, someone else has to be there to pick you up.”
Ducklow not only completed the season sweep. This was her 9th straight individual title.
“I definitely didn’t play as well as I wanted to today, but I came away with the win, sweep of the MVC conference individually, so I guess I can’t complain.”
