Town of Holland welcomes new park space

Stephenson Farmstead park opens with dedication ceremony

TOWN OF HOLLAND, Wis. (WKBT) – The Town of Holland now has a new park for people to enjoy.

A park dedication was held Tuesday afternoon for the Stephenson Farmstead Park.

The land was donated by the Arneson family, who built a farm there in the 1870s.

For the family of the Norwegian farmers, it was an ideal way to honor the land.

“This created an opportunity to dedicate some additional land to address some other needs for parking and greenspace, and at the same time create a legacy for our family that will conserve this property,” says Mike Arneson, who donated the land.

The park includes signs along trails so visitors can learn more about the family that farmed the land.
