Town of Onalaska man pleads guilty to child porn charges

LA CROSSE, Wis. — A Town of Onalaska man facing charges after being accused of videotaping young boys in a shower pleads guilty to reduced charges.

47-year-old Michael Kulas was arrested in May and charged with multiple felony counts, including child sexploitation.

According to court documents investigators found a peephole in a basement shower in Kulas’ home and a camera with videos of boys showering.
Several young boys told investigators they showered at Kulas’ home after using his hot tub, and another boy told investigators he showered at Kulas’ home after mowing his lawn.

Wednesday Kulas pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography. The remaining five counts were dismissed, but will be considered at Kulas’ sentencing. No date has been set.

Prosecutors recommend Kulas serve four years in prison and 10 years extended supervision.
