Toys for Tots donations collected in La Crosse

Hundreds of toys will soon be in the hands of kids in need, thanks to your donations.

Members of the La Crosse Jaycees made stops throughout the area Friday to pick up donation barrels for their Toys for Tots program.

People have been dropping off toys to donation sites like News 8 since the drive began about a month ago.

About 325 families, including more than a thousand children, will receive presents this year though the drive.

Organizers know the impact of the donations will be big.

“No child should ever go without a toy for Christmas, or toys. So it’s going to help them bring to their kids and take a little relief off of them to say ‘I can’t do this this year, how am I going to do this for my kids.’ Well, we’re here to help,” said Jason Jones, La Crosse Jaycees Toys for Tots media director.

The toys will be distributed on December 14th.
