TRAFFIC ALERT: Hwy. 93 in Trempealeau Co. reopened after crash

ELEVA, Wis. (WKBT)- Two people were killed in a head-on car crash Wednesday afternoon in Trempealeau Co. near Eleva.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Hwy. 93 and County Road V in the Town of Albion.
The Trempealeau Co. Sheriff’s Department says the driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital, but died of their injuries.
There were no other people in either of the vehicles.
The names of those involved are being withheld until family can be notified.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Hwy. 93 was closed for several hours in both directions while crews worked at the scene of the crash.
The Wisconsin State Patrol, Strum Police Department, Independence Police Department, Eleva Fire/First Responders, Mayo Ambulance, Strum Fire/First Responders, and Mayo Helicopter assisted.
