Trempealeau DA fighting recall effort
TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (WKBT) — Trempealeau County District Attorney Taavi McMahon issued a statement in response to a recall effort started by two officers.
In the statement, McMahon said, “these two officers are spreading innuendo and misinformation thereby misleading the public into a political process that only distracts from what we need to focus on, namely public safety.”
“This is especially irksome since the two signees have never spoken to me about the issues they raise in the paperwork. They must have missed the many times I let all law enforcement know that I have an open door-open phone policy for law enforcement as well as the residents of our county,” McMahon said in a press release.

PREVIOUS: A recall petition for McMahon was submitted to the Wisconsin Elections Commission last month by two Osseo police officers. The petition claims McMahon is often unprepared for court and does not effectively prosecute cases.
