Trick-or-Treating safety tips from La Crosse Police Dept.
Wear light colors, reflective gear, only go to homes with porch light on
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Police Department has some safety concerns for kids and parents as they head out for Halloween Trick-or-Treating.
Kids should always be accompanied by an adult, even as they get a little older.
Trick or Treaters are encouraged to wear light colored clothing and, if possible, something reflective. Only go to homes with a porch light on and stay in neighborhoods parents are comfortable in. Also, take it slow.
“The kids running up to houses or crossing streets and being aware of cars so we don’t have one of our children hit in the community,” said La Crosse Police Sergeant Randy Rank.
The La Crosse Police Department recommends going from house to house between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday.
