Two die when vehicle breaks through Chippewa River ice
LAKE HOLCOMBE, WIS. (AP) — A 75-year-old man and his 47-year-old daughter died Sunday when their utility vehicle broke through the ice on the Chippewa River.
The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department got a call about about the incident at about 5 p.m. The Chippewa Falls EMS and Dive Team found two people inside the closed vehicle on the bottom of the river.
The unidentified man and his daughter, who lived in rural Holcombe, were pronounced dead at the hospital.
