Two females rescued after stranded on Grandad Bluff

La Crosse Fire Department rescues two females stranded on a ledge of Grandad Bluff

Two hikers had to be rescued from a ledge below the face of Grandad Bluff in La Crosse Thursday afternoon.

Initial reports indicated the two females were not injured but were unable to go up or down.

The Urban Search and Rescue Team was called to the scene. A high angle rescue system was put in place and the two hikers were put in harnesses and raised to the top of the bluff with rescuers.

They were treated and released at the scene.

There were 15 members of the fire department involved in the rescue.
