Two injured in Amish buggy accident in Wisconsin
TOWN OF GRANT, Wis. (AP) — Two people were injured in an accident involving a horse-drawn Amish buggy carrying six people in Shawano County in eastern Wisconsin.
The sheriff’s office says a Marion Police Department officer who arrived on the scene around 2:30 p.m. Sunday was told the horse became spooked while going down Wisconsin Highway 45 in the Town of Grant. The horse bolted into the ditch and a wheel was torn off, causing the buggy to overturn.
An injured male was flown to a Green Bay hospital, while an injured female was treated at the scene. The sheriff’s office says the extent of their injuries is unknown, and their names were not immediately released.
The sheriff’s office says the four uninjured people left the scene before the first officer arrived.
