LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate is touring the state to make his pitch to voters.

Nelson is an Outagamie County Executive.
He’s planning to visit all 72 counties in 72 days.
As a Democrat who’s won elections in a Republican stronghold, Nelson says he’s ready to reach across the aisle.
“Washington is at a tipping point for which we need to have people that understand not just the issues, but people that can bridge the divide between Democrats and the Republicans,” said Nelson.
He also visited Monroe, Vernon, and Crawford counties on Thursday.
His tour will continue through September.
