Unusually warm weekend helped one tree lot sell out of Christmas trees
An unusually warm weekend caused a boom for an are winter-based business.
The Snowy Ridge Tree Lot in Westby sold-out of Christmas trees for the season. Snowy Ridge owners credit the first-weekend blowout to the weather, and while passers-by may see more trees on the farm, the owners say those remaining need to continue to grow over the next year.
“When I go out in the fall and tag the trees that we’re selling this year, I try to keep my eye on which ones would be maybe a little bit taller, a little bit better next year and not sell those this year,” said Snowy Ridge Tree Lot Owner Moira Hastings.
The Snowy Ridge Tree Lot sold more than 600 trees over the weekend.
