UPDATE: La Crosse police looking for man that fired gun in downtown fight

A gun was fired during a fight in downtown La Crosse Sunday morning. Interim Police Chief Rob Abraham said on Twitter that there was a melee downtown.

At 1:33 a.m., a large fight occurred on 3rd Street directly outside Who’s on Third bar, police said.

Authorities are looking for a person wearing an orange shirt who allegedly fired the gun during the incident. A photo of the person was captured by a Safecam outside Diggers Sting.

Police identified Andre Bell, 31, as one of the individuals involved in the fight. Bell was cited for Disorderly Conduct. Lenell Carter, 36, was identified as the person who started the fight. Police are asking for assistance in locating Carter.

Officers located one shell casing and one bullet near the bar at 126 3rd Street North.

Video surveillance allowed officers to follow Carter’s path southbound down the alley at 500 Main Street, according to police reports.
