UPDATE: Man who died in Monroe Co. industrial accident is ID’ed
NORWALK, Wis. (AP) — The worker who died last week at a western Wisconsin meatpacking plant has been identified as a 31-year-old man from Viola.
The Monroe County sheriff’s department identified the man on Monday as Edgar Rodriguez Becerra.
He died Friday following an electrical accident at the Valley Pride Packing plant in Norwalk. An investigation is being conducted by sheriff’s investigators and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened Friday just before 10:00 a.m.
Sheriff Pete Quirin tells News 8 the man was working at the Valley Pride Packing Plant.
The man was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Sparta, but later died from his injuries.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the accident.
