UPDATE: Suspect identified who struck police investigator with car in Holmen
Brandon L. Ritter facing multiple charges
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — From the La Crosse County Assistant District Attorney’s office: Brandon Ritters preliminary hearing was held today and investigators Tom Johnson and Fritz Leinfelder testified.
The suspect was bound over on all felony charges. Ritters filed a substitution of judge. The case will be reassigned to a new judge for further proceedings as their schedule permits.
Police identify the suspect who they say struck an officer with his car in Holmen.
A drug investigation was underway Thursday night in the parking lot of the Festival Foods in Holmen when officers attempted to arrest 24-year-old Brandon L. Ritter who was in his car.
Ritter struck a La Crosse Police investigator while trying to get away.
The investigator fired several rounds at the suspect’s car until it hit a snowbank. Ritter was arrested.
The investigator was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was released.
Ritter was not injured.
He faces charges of Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer, two counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine, and first degree recklessly endangering safety.
