UW-Eau Claire names new athletics director

Blugolds hire Chicago State's Dan Schumacher

Chicago State University athletic director Dan Schumacher plans to take the same job at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Chicago State made the announcement on Friday. The school says Schumacher’s last day will be June 13. He’s held the position for two seasons. During that time, Chicago State entered the Western Athletic Conference.

Schumacher will assume UW-Eau Claire athletics director responsibilities June 15.

“When I left Eau Claire a couple weeks back after the interview, I called my wife from the road and said that these coaches and staff are so dedicated and passionate, it’s what college sports are all about. I’m looking forward to being a part of that,” Schumacher said in a news release.

Current UW-Eau Claire athletics director Scott Kilgallon is leaving for a new post at Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri.
