UW-L men finish 2nd, women 4th at T&F Championships

Eagles use strong final day of competition

The UW-La Crosse men used a strong final day of competition to place second as a team at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

It is UW-L’s third second-place finish in the last four years. The Eagles have won an NCAA-best 12 outdoor titles in school history, including the 2013 crown.

A few highlights include UW-L’s Grant Havard capturing the national title in the discus throw (188-11) to earn All-America honors. In addition, West Salem grad Alex Koenen placed third in the 100 meter dash (10.57).

The UW-La Crosse women, meanwhile, finished fourth as a team. The Eagles swept the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. Independence grad Bria Halama placed second in the triple jump (40-2 3/4).
