UW La Crosse aims to create inclusivity at ‘Wheels for All’
LA CROSSE (WKBT) – UW La Crosse is giving back to the disabled community, one basketball at a time.
At Wheels For All, UWL students invited all members of the community to shoot some baskets.
According to organizers, their main goal is to create an inclusive environment so everyone could play basketball.
One student said that putting this event together was all about the details.
“Getting just to know a little bit [about] how wheelchair basketball is played,” said student Sierra Najdowski. “Going through the steps of just planning an event. And making sure we’re putting on an event that’s inclusive and making sure every little detail is okay.”
If you or someone you know is interested in playing wheelchair basketball, you can check out the National Wheelchair Basketball Association website to find a team near you.
