UW-La Crosse ready to host NCAA III Regional

UW-La Crosse softball wanted a tough schedule entering the year. They got it.

Out of their 42-games, 19 were against ranked opponents. The Eagles went 11-and-8 in those games.

UWL was rewarded not only with an at-large berth to the N-C-A-A tournament, but they also get to host a four team regional beginning on Friday.

“I think it’s the greatest thing that we’ve experienced,” said senior pitcher Jessie Carignan. “The fact that we get another home game is a huge advantage for us and the fact that we get to be back on our great field it’s everything that we’ve wanted.”

“We worked so hard for this,” added sophomore pitcher Caitlyn Hughes. “We knew it would be a challenge at the beginning and we knew that we could do it. It just takes a lot of hard work, we put in the time and just worked really hard every day. We made it and we are all really proud of ourselves but we still have a lot of work to do.”
