UW-La Crosse senior speed dating event sparks interest across the country
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — UW-La Crosse’s speed dating for seniors is creating a national buzz!
The UWL professor who helped her students start the program is partnering with the New York City-based film director who created the documentary “Age of Love”, which inspired the initial event. They are creating a lesson plan that would be seen in classrooms across the country.
“By doing so, we’d be able to reach out to a lot more seniors and also create some inter-generational contact between college students and older adults,” said UW-La Crosse Associate Professor of Sociology Dawn Norris.
The UWL class is also planning another speed dating event of their own. A date has not been set yet. If you or someone you know would like to take part, contact Associate Professor Norris at dnorris@uwlax.edu or by calling (608) 785-6771.
