UW-La Crosse Women’s Basketball ready for strong season

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)–The Women’s Basketball team is looks ready for the new season, a 3-0 start that is their best since 2018, where they made the NCAA Tournament.

It’s year six for Coach Middleton, who has brought the team to the post season for the first time in years in 2018, and has several deep WIAC tournament runs under her belt.

After making the semifinals last year, coach Middleton knows what it takes to build on that season.

“We have super competitive practices where they’re challenging each other but at the same time it’s good, healthy competition. And it’s raising the level of our play. It’s a lot of great kids that are bought into what we’re trying to do and competing at a very high level,” said Middleton.

“I respect the hell out of her and I feel like she’s taught me so much being here. I feel like I trust everything she’s going to do and she says jump and I ask how high,” said Senior Lexie Higgins.
