UW System president visits UW La Crosse
Cross: Tuition freeze nice for students, hard on staff
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The leader of the UW System spent time at UW La Crosse Friday.
UW System President Ray Cross held open forums with students and staff.
He talked about how the two year tuition freeze has been nice for students but tough to balance with faculty salary.
Cross’ visit comes as the university’s landscape is changing. Multiple building projects are set to get underway soon.
“It’s been growing, it’s been growing well, steadily, and its quality has been growing at the same time, so I think that’s a very wise investment on the part of the state in an institution like UW-La Crosse,” said Cross.
This is Cross’s first new school year as System President.
