UWL joins Community Food Drive, donations open to the public

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Great Rivers United Way and Rotary Lights are teaming up to bring their first-ever joint food drive.

One of their collection sites is in the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Student Union.

You don’t have to be a student to drop off donations there.

UWL employees say you’re welcome to come to campus if you’re in the spirit of giving.

“We’ve got 10,000 students, 1200 employees, you know we can all donate here, but our doors are open, so our community is welcome to stop in at the Union, our information desk is where the collection is taking place, it’s right on the first floor when you enter the doors,” said UWL’s Community Engagement Coordinator Lisa Klein.

All non-perishable food donations will be distributed to 12 area food pantries, including the Hunger Task Force and UWL’s campus food pantry.
