Valarie ‘Val’ Ann Holey

Valarie “Val” Ann (Buhr) Holey, 44, of Cashton, WI, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, November 6, 2021. She was born March 31, 1977 in La Crosse.

Val attended Logan High School before graduating from Western Technical College for early childhood education. Val loved children and her jobs in the child-care industry. While working at a child-care center, Val met the love of her life, Eric Holey. They married on September 15, 2012, and soon added to their family, a daughter, Adelia, in December of 2014. Val was a loving wife and doting mother. She was the best big sister ever, and a wonderful sister-in-law and aunt. She loved her day-care kids and their families beyond measure. Her family and friends were her entire world. They all will miss her dearly.

Val is survived by her husband, Eric; and her daughter, Adelia; her parents, Steve and Kris Buhr; her sister Vanessa (Shawn) Burwitz-Whitewater, Jasmine, Shawnna, and Jaxson; her brother Dustin Buhr; her sister Heidi (Rory) Buhr, Joey; and her brother Johann (Jessica) Buhr, Hayleigh, Aria, Zoey, Lacie, Sophia, and Amelia. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Scott Holey, Parker, Anessa, and Ross; Steve (Janet) Holey, Jeff (Tabitha) Holey and Rebecca (Brandon) Dunnum; a sister-in-law Sheila Holey Jubera, Matthew and Hailey; and three great-nieces and nephews, Abigail and Orlando Holey and Hendrick Dunnum.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Arvid and Donna Holey; grandparents Paul and Bev Kowley; and an infant niece, Arriah Jade.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, at the Coon Valley Lutheran Church. Rev. Julie Wollman will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Condolences may be given at selandsfuneralhome.com.
