Veterans enjoy Warrior Hockey in Onalaska
ONALASKA (WKBT) – La Crosse area veterans also got a chance to get active today.
At the Omni Center in Onalaska, veterans got to enjoy playing some warrior hockey.
This growing national trend is sponsored by the NHL and vets from all over the country get to compete together.
Veterans who participated in the game say that they hope events like these raise awareness.
“Try to support the troops. Everyone fights their own demons when they get back,” said veteran Jared Swyter. “There’s lots of homeless vets that need some help. There’s people that are struggling with mental issues that need some help.”
Team Wisconsin organizers say that they are hoping to get a local team together here in La Crosse.
