Victims of fatal crash were Wisconsin man, Illinois woman

WAUPUN, Wis. (AP) — The two victims of a fatal head-on collision in Fond du Lac County this weekend have been identified as a Wisconsin man and an Illinois woman.

A sheriff’s report says 39-year-old Christopher Leurquin of De Pere, and 22-year-old Thea Mojzych of Streator, Ill., were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the collision occurred Saturday about 10:45 p.m. in the town of Waupun. They say Leurquin lost control of his vehicle, swerved into oncoming traffic and slammed into Mojzych’s car.

The Reporter newspaper in Fond du Lac says a passenger in Mojzych’s car was airlifted to a hospital. Twenty-three-year-old Rodrick Harris of Oak Park, Ill., was in critical condition Monday at a Madison hospital.

The sheriff’s report says neither speed nor alcohol is considered a factor in the crash.
