Video shows packed bar less than an hour after ‘Safer at Home’ order lifted
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — A video showing a packed Wisconsin bar is going viral on Twitter.
The crowd reportedly gathered at Nick’s Bar in Platteville about an hour after the state’s “Safer at Home” order was lifted, according to posts on the bar’s Twitter account.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned Governor Evers’ “Safer at Home” order. Following the ruling, the Tavern League of Wisconsin issued bars “open immediately.”
The Tavern League encouraged bars to follow WEDC guidelines for reopening businesses.
Some of those guidelines include having employees and customers follow social distancing guidelines and encourage the use of face masks.
Dane County health officials issued a local “Safer at Home” order Wednesday night for Madison and Dane County. The order will remain in effect in both areas until May 26th.
