The Vikings have hired former Green Bay Packers coach Dom Capers as a senior defensive assistant, the team announced in a press release Monday.

Capers enters his 33rd year as an NFL coach. He was Green Bay’s defensive coordinator from 2009-2017. During his time with the Packers, Capers’ defenses were in the bottom third of total defense four times in seven years, and were league-worst in 2011.

Capers was most recently a senior defensive assistant for the Jaguars last season.
