Viterbo students, staff make message of peace
LA CROSSE, WI — Viterbo students and staff along with the Franciscan sisters assembled Monday to send a message to anyone looking from above.
About 70 people formed a human peace sign at a courtyard on campus. It’s how the university is kicking off its annual Peace Week.
Various events go on throughout the week.
Organizers say it’s a reminder that even as we continue to see a number of tragedies in our community, we need to have hope for peace. “Violence and the loss of it all, that’s not the right way to go, it’s not the message to send to the children and to families that we need to honor peace, that we need to have non-violence in our community,” said organizer Danielle Elland.
