Volunteer truck drivers deliver wreaths to veterans’ graves

Veterans across the country are honoring the fallen through Christmas wreaths.

Last Saturday, thousands of Christmas wreaths were placed on the graves of soldiers throughout the country, including graves in cemeteries in the La Crosse area.

The wreaths are delivered by volunteer truck drivers and on Friday, one of those trucks stopped at the Tomah VA on its way to Arlington Cemetery in Virgina from Maine to deliver wreaths.

The truck driver said he is honored to provide a special memorial to military families.

“Part of it is your freedom. We have the freedom to do this because of the people we are remembering which is the whole idea-remembering the people who have sacrificed for our freedom,” said Paul Sagehorn.

The Wreaths Across America driver is also a veteran and says he will continue laying wreaths every year that he can.
