Volunteers give Grandad Bluff Park a spring cleaning
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Outdoor Recreation Alliance held the Grand Clean Up to pick up trash, clean graffiti and remove invasive species on the bluff Saturday.
Jed Olson, the vice president of the Outdoor Recreation Alliance, hopes there will be more forms of recreation in the bluff’s future and volunteers worked to get the area ready.
Olson said this is the best time to get trash that is thrown over the edge of the bluff and stuck in bushes.
“This time of year is perfect to clean it up because there’s no leaves on the trees or on the bushes. Everything’s easy to see. It’s easy to get through, to some of these trickier to reach areas,” said Olson.
This is the first year the Grand Clean Up was held, and Olson hopes the bluff will stay clean ― making it the last Grand Clean Up.
