Volunteers help elderly, disabled homeowners during annual La Crescent Neighbors Day
LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) – More than 100 volunteers showed up for their community to help out during La Crescent Neighbors Day.
Groups of families, school sports teams, and area clubs are helping out 60 homeowners who aren’t always able to take care of things like yard work and window washing.
It’s become a yearly spring tradition for the La Crescent community.
“I think it just shows that La Crescent is a great community where people come together when needed, and we’ve been doing this for so long now, people look forward to it,” said committee member Mike Doering.
The Neighbors Day committee provides rakes, gloves, and window washing equipment.
They also have volunteers with trucks and trailers to haul away yard waste to a compost site.
La Crescent Neighbors Day started back in 2006.
