Walker promotes veterans job fair
2692690MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker is trying to drum up interest among employers for a veterans job fair in Green Bay.
Federal and state veterans agencies along with a number of chambers of commerce have scheduled the “Hiring Our Heroes” fair for Saturday in the Lambeau Field atrium. The fair will be free.
The state Department of Workforce Development says about 40 employers have agreed to participate so far. The governor held a news conference Wednesday at the state Capitol to promote the fair, saying he hopes to draw more employers to the event.
