Walker tours flooding in Gays Mills
GAYS MILLS, Wis. (WKBT) — Gov. Scott Walker was in the area surveying flooding damage Saturday.
Walker visited Black River Falls, De Soto and Gays Mills.
Walker said this was the second time he has visited the area due to flooding.
The governor urges those affected to document the damage to help local, state and government officials disperse aid.
Walker says residents need to be mindful of their surroundings during flooding.
“It is an important reminder though again- for the future but even the foreseeable future if there’s more rain tomorrow into Monday morning, that times like this it’s important that when there’s standing water for people to stay away from areas like that. And in particular, when roads and bridges are posted,” Walker said.
After talking with the press, Walker met with emergency crews and residents dealing with the flooding.
