Wall of Honor recognizes former Onalaksa students in the military

Recognizes former students who have died or missing in action

Onalaska High School honored former students that served in the military on Saturday.

The first ever Wall of Honor recognizes students that have either died in the line of duty or were declared missing in action.

The ceremony had all of the hallmark military pieces like the posting of the colors, taps and a 21 gun salute.

A former Onalaska student and graduate from West Point was the keynote speaker at the event.

The Principal said that the event is a great way to remember these former students.

“To recognize the contributions that these former students made, the sacrifices, the life experiences that they never had the chance to experience. This whole process has just been so gratifying to look at how we can honor and recognize these former students,” said Jared Schaffener, principal of Onalaska High School.
