Watch: Gov. Evers, Wisconsin health experts talk COVID response

MADISON (WKBT) — Gov. Tony Evers will join Wisconsin’s health experts Wednesday to discuss the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event is scheduled for 1-2 p.m. Wednesday. Speakers include Evers, Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake, DHS Bureau of Communicable Diseases chief medical officer Dr. Ryan Westergaard and Ryan Nilsestuen.

The briefing comes as the Associated Press reports that a COVID-19 surge is stretching Wisconsin hospitals to the limit. The seven-day average for new infections in Wisconsin is more than 3,500, which is the highest it’s been in a year.
