Watch Live: DHS gives COVID-19 Q&A, announces use of VaccineFinder
MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services will begin using the Centers for Disease Control’s VaccineFinder tool to help people find COVID-19 vaccine in their area.
Next month, the tool, found at https://vaccinefinder.org/, will replace the DHS map of COVID-19 vaccine providers that launched in February.
“DHS is constantly evaluating different tools to make it easier to find available vaccine,” said DHS Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake. “It is critical that we streamline this process so anyone wanting a vaccination can quickly locate available vaccine in their community and get vaccinated.”
Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and Dr. Ryan Westergaard, Chief Medical Officer DHS Bureau of Communicable Diseases, will take questions during a media event at 1:30 p.m. Watch it live on the News 8 Now Facebook page.
