West Des Moines man pleads guilty to tax evasion

A West Des Moines man has pleaded guilty to income tax evasion.

Charles Barbour made the plea on Wednesday, after making a deal with prosecutors.

Prosecutors say Barbour didn’t report all the money he earned from making dentures for a private dental practice. Barbour acknowledged understating his income in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. He also admitted falsely claiming business expenses for 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Barbour faces up to five years in prison when he’s sentenced on May 9.
